Custom Shorty Electric VW Bus with Nissan Leaf Drivetrain

July 28, 2019 by Paul Crowe

Custom 1966 VW Bus with Nissan Leaf electric drivetrain

Most electric cars don’t really make a visual statement, for that you need to go custom and this short wheelbase 1966 VW Bus utilizing a Nissan Leaf all electric drivetrain is definitely an eye-catcher. If your commute is short and you don’t mind getting a lot of attention, this is for you.

Custom short wheelbase 1966 VW Bus looks very cool

The shorty conversion is almost cartoonish, though in a good way, but it’s also guaranteed to make you smile as you drive it. You’ll likely get a lot of double takes from onlookers and everyone will be snapping your picture.

Nissan Leaf electric drivetrain

The drivetrain from a Nissan Leaf should be as reliable as the car it came from. The seller says it has a 70 to 90 miles range. Flip up windshields, Wilwood custom brakes and an adjustable suspension.

Custom interior is nicely done

The custom interior looks good, the only downside is there’s no side glass for the doors. If you live in the right climate and always have a garage or covered parking available, you’re good.

If you want something completely different, this VW is for sale on eBay. This van is sold.
