When the British motorcycle industry collapsed, they had only themselves to blame, warning signs had been coming for a while, like this 1965 CB450 Black Bomber. It had a reliable electrical system, imagine that! Electric start and overhead cams in this hi revving, oil tight twin just added to the list of indications that bigger things were on the way. This particular Black Bomber is a very nice example of the bike and a nice place to start if you’re thinking of adding a few significant early Japanese motorcycles to your collection.
Collectors are always on the lookout for clean examples and the seller of this one says the engine was rebuilt using NOS parts, the speedometer was replaced with a NOS unit and the carbs are from a later CB450. It starts and runs great which is good to know, because some of those “easy fix” non runners can be a problem if the parts needed are hard to find.
